The Three F's

Recently, a good friend of mine posted a blog that said.... "Always remember the 3 'F's'! It's something for me to know, and for you to try and figure out :)" I was being funny when I commented to his blog, but he interned sent me a message that I just had to repost. It said, and I quote: "The Three F's are something my one trainer friend up here gave me to help with my self confidence: I don't give a Fuck! I'm Funny, and I'm Fun to be around. If said over and over, they were supposed to instill in me something that has been missing for too long. Like you, he (Nate) is a very wise individual." That is very good advise. Kinda sounds like Al Frankens character on Saturday Night Live, Stewart Smalley, when he use to do his daily affirmations: "I'm Good Enough. I'm Smart Enough. And Doggone It, People Like Me!" When I think about it, the 3 F's are exactly the way that I think about things; the motto that I've had since the day that I decided to be STEVE. 1. I don't give a Fuck what people think; I'm gonna be me. 2. I know that I am Funny and can bring a smile to anyones face. 3. And damnit! I am Fun to be around (specially when I drink)! I'm the type of guy that either you like me or you don't. There really is no in-between. I'll either get on your nerves, or you'll say, I don't want to like him, but there's just something about him...You like me ! The bottom line is that you have to have confidence in yourself... No matter what anyone tells you, the confidence has to come from with in. How does that happen? The power of thought! The power of words! The power of repitition. As a personal trainer, and all of you who workout; you know that it's repitition that you work your muscles into growing. Repitition is the key to learning everything, to growing anything, or learning anything. My oldest son used to watch "Blues Clues" everyday. The great thing about that show is that they would repeat the same episode throughout the whole week so that the kids that watched it would learn and pick up on what was going in the show and would be able to answer the questions by the time the show played at the end of the week. In school, we did everything under repitition. That is how the body, the brain learns. Habitual liars start to believe their lies to be real because the have repeated them over and over again. I could go on and on about this... and I probably will in another blog. How parents instill good (and bad) things into the heads of their kids by repitition. People think that it is stupid or geeky (if that's a word) to do things like a daily affirmation. Most say that it's weird. But constantly repeating positive thoughts to yourself actually does effect the brain. TO BE CONTINUED...... ***(A great movie to watch about this is called "What The Bleep Do We Know?"*** Currently watching : What the Bleep Do We Know!? Release date: 15 March, 2005
